Thank you for the chords. I'll try to come up with something in the next few days. Sorry I couldn't get around to it yet.

sharkboy has uploaded a new Idea with the title Guitar Solo Idea.
File Description:This is a solo idea for the section 2:26-3:07. I was trying to go with an Alex Lifeson type vibe and started out in a minor pentaonic and then moved into aeolian centered idea.. I switch to A Ionian after the parallel key modulation.

I agree guitarplayer ,the same lyrics will have different meanings to others
Dr Jones, heard some really good stuff from your website , sounded like Yes/King Crimson
Here's a paste of what I sent out about the progression
starts off --A--C--A--A#--B--A
then --A--A#--A--A# back and forth a few times then--C--A#--C
then A--B--C--D back to A (bridge) I think LOL!
Just a rough outline I didn't specify if their Minors or Majors

good lyrics!!
the good thing about lyrics each person interprets them differently in relation to their own lives
i can relate to your lyrics,, and im sure most people around here can relate to the lyrics you have written

Sounds very interesting and the style is right up my alley.
I could do some keys if you wish, but I could use some some kind of lead sheet (chord progressions), that would be very helpful.

Sung to the tune of "What the hell do I know"
Oh man what a fucked up year

Lost a friend, lost my job, then I hit a deer

I try to say that I care it doesn't come out right

Want to share how I feel and it ends up a fight

Wish I had chance to try and get it right

That all this shit around me would be out of sight

Instead it’s just another sorry part of my life

I really wonder who the hell is really rolling the dice

I’m going crazy

I’m going crazy

So I think I’m gonna change the game

It couldn't be me it’s the world that’s insane

The pressure building up and my thoughts strange

Only half my heart and it’s in so much pain

Stay away careful now don’t get suck in

It’s all going down and it’s near the end

There was a time when all seem to make sense

Doesn't matter now it’s a fucking train wreck

I’m going crazy

I’m going crazy

I’m going crazy

Gonna get me a bottle

Gonna drink it straight

Gonna get me a bottle

Gonna get shit faced

Gonna get me a bottle gonna drink it straight

Gonna get me a bottle gonna get wasted

Gonna keep going on till I cause a regret

Gonna keep going on till I cause a wreck

There’s got to be a time and there’s got to be a place

There’s got to be a reason to all that’s misplaced

There’s got to be a will and there’s got to be a way

There’s got to be a road to a better day

It’s got to be a test it’s got to be a rhyme

It’s got to be around us and around all time

Never make much sense never make things right

Just the way its is just the way of life

I’m going crazy

I’m going crazy

I’m going crazy

Okay.. and let me know when your done

I guess there's more riding on the lyrics than I realized
Maybe that should be the first order of business to get the lyrics somewhat established and where they should go
I guess I could give a second look to what I started to write, its possible that it could help get things rolling

2/9/2013 5:59:03 AM

LOL.. Screaming is pretty easy.. i am sure you can do it..
Just Practice, Practice, Practice, Practice
2/9/2013 5:50:44 AM

Screaming is a must have quantification
wish I could scream in key lol !

2/9/2013 5:28:01 AM

i like the lyric! and i am not that good at writing lyrics. i don't wanna ruin your song.
and Last year i lost a friend too :(
and by the way am I allowed to scream?? :B

Arrangement's are a major weak point for me so this is the kind of input I need

I did write some lyrics for it but because they where base on such a personal negative experience I didn't want to use them, there not that good anyway and they probably wouldn't make much sense for someone else
As a sample the first lines are

"Oh man what a fucked up year"
"lost a friend, lost my job, then I hit a deer"  (hitting that deer totaled my car)

at 316 when it mellowed (with lots of echo)
"Gonna get me a bottle"
"gonna drink it strait"
"gonna get me a bottle"
"gonna get shit faced"

you get the idea

But feel free to write about your own "fucked up year"   LOL!!!!

Do have a lyric for this song Stevie?
2/8/2013 9:21:04 PM

you have enough material here to arrange a very nice song
next thing would be figuring out what parts fit nice for vocal melodys / lyrics... verse chorus bridge
and what parts fit nice for guitar solos/leads/melodys for the instrumental parts
edit arrange re-arrange see what flows

if at anytime confused,, put on some reference tracks... pearl jam, rush, yes, U2, dream theater etc
reference tracks are always good for that

Actually I was hoping for others to make those kinda calls to there respective talents, if you want to write vocals put them where you want them, same with guitar, keyboards or to have them unfold as things went along, because I always thought my music suffered by being all me on all the instruments making all the calls
I was more or less was thinking out loud how confusing it could get
I was ask what sections I wanted lead guitar over as opposed to vocals and felt that revealing what was in my head when I was writing might help everyone understand why I did this part 6 times or that part 4 times, making the structure a little more understandable
I do call it the "Progressive Rock Experiment"
