Re-did the the motif part, very clean not stumbling anymore.

Broke my speed limit with a few bars after Rick's solo LOL.

I quit smoking yesterday and I think i was angry last night. I am now a serial vapist.

Anyways, I'm working on the raw solo's track right now Rich. If I knew WTF I was doing these things wouldn't take so long.

Thanks guys,

C.

Rich,

Gonna work on the drone bit tonight, just got back.

The new fingering/picking (same notes) lends it to be much easier to play it cleanly and almost indefinitely, am very happy about that. The way it was before I was worried it was almost just cut/paste fluff.

I'll try to shoot ya a clean non effects version and the phased out one that I used so far.

You might come up with some better ideas effects wise with the clean version to mess with. But I do really like the spacey effect I put on it, use your own judgement.

I'll see what else to mess with once that's done.

Let some people hear it last night, they really liked it. I don't think they had the vision to appreciate the emptier parts where vocals would go. The driving rhythm part with the triads over top, and the solo and breakdown part blew them away though.

I'll send ya the waves to your email and probably update a new mp3 to the site later.

Thanks,
C.

Rick,

I want that solo bro, it sounds golden. I was just wondering if you could add that one note but hell I can on my end if needed, Hell I can delay bounce the thing out, if needed.

SO please send the wav

Rich

I'm glad this is coming along so well, I was up till almost 4 last night.

1st things 1st, can't tell you how messed up my tracks look like in my DAW workspace. It works but you'd laugh, trust me on this one.

I need to re-record the little bouncy arpeggiated thing. What I basically did was take a single 8 bar turnaround and cut/paste it multiple times, then adjusted it for sync in various parts. This was due to the fact that I just came up with it, and had some fingering/alt. picking issues that showed up later after analyzing it. That was the reason I had so many syncopation issues. blah blah blah you guys know the deal.

Now would a 8 bar upload to you be good for what you need? It would allow for more freedom I think, to stick it where you see fit. Just be careful the accents fall on the drumbeats and changes, it loses all of the punch when it wanders.

Also, probably can't do it tonight unfortunately. I might but can't count on it, but if not, tomorrow for sure. That thing ties in with the song so well and I feel it needs to be just right. So I need a more repeatable clean version to give ya.

Oh and the site won't let me upload wav files. Can I just send them email to ya when I'm finished?

Gents,

You are both playing the hell outta this one, thanks!

I have a few requests:
1 - give me raw files to drop in the master mix on my end, I can match and get things better.
2 - Give me a chance to daily that bass tone down more, it needs to be slightly more in control. Sorry bassist mixing thus it happens.
3 - RICK -  can you add a slight change to your leads ending? I want a note hold to fade out on it. That cut seems abrut but I love the lead.
4 - SHADE - I want to play with that repeating theme a tiny bit tone wise. Probably put an octave on it to fill the tone out. Maybe...

Bravo on the lead attempt during the break down. It is a Pedal note of open C with an accent of a C varient. I CAN pull the keyboards notes out for reference if needed and check that since it is midi.

Vocals

Are an issue on this site. I am close to calling in some personal favors. I have one willing in AZ kinda a mastadon-ish voice. I can approach another female I know on here... and ace in the hole is mid-album recording so he probably can not help too much but you would be impressed if he gets someone... trust me on that.

Lastly, I am getting annoing close to grabbing a mic. I did backing for years and radio/voice overs. I just never considered myself a singer.

lol made one tiny change and it made the transition so much better to the solo.

Changed my mind, it' growing on me. couple bum notes aside w/e.

Who's the singer?

j/k, C.

Hey guys,

New fixed somewhat integrated upload, I'll explain.

Changes:

Put Rick's solo into the mix.
Fix the bum note and added a small harmony at the end of the intro melody.
more ambient triad rhythm stuff throughout.

But breakdown solo....
Uhggg. Don't get used to it. It's one take, not happy with it. not horrifying but just not what I had envisioned. tomorrow is another day.

But I wanted to u/l what I have so far.
Sonar has pissed me off too many times today.(it's just me but I have to vent)

Thanks both of you,

C.

let me know if i have to record the solo again. i just made it up as i went but i could get something very close again. not sure if the problem your talking about is with the solo or the rythum im lost
NeonBlack828

Okay included the original count in back, tried to record metronome with it but no go.

4/4 130 BPM

The break down is in time, just barely like every 3-4 reps. I know not nice and if I knew this software better I suspect the break down is 120-100 BPM but tracked at 130.

maybe this will help?

think thats better i cut the noise out before the solo starts

Rickeye

yeh it ,ust be a lil noise from turning my volume pot up ill upload again
Shade476

Rick,

Thats cool I have no idea how to fully use this software yet, but it can def do anything ya want it to. Just show your rocket scientist I.D. at the door and you're good to go.

I sorta kinda tuned your solo into my base mix, so it'll incorporate my stuff and your solo. Was a weird pause at the beginning of the song, so I cut it and pasted it and I think I got the timing close.

Is there any way you could re-upload without that gallop part before I dive in again?. I know that area is bit disjointed and I get you trying to give it continuity but that part just kills me. I want to work on it tonight. I'll have to leave it as is or go thru a possible re-sync hell if it's off again time wise with the parts I'm working on.

Thanks, and great solo btw.

C.
