Thanks Jason, appreciate it. Great guitar work! As always, the solo fits like a glove!
Sucks about your guitar. I have a similar issue going on with my hi-hat. You can probably hear in the drum track I uploaded...it sounds static-y when closed...not sure if it's the cymbal or foot pedal yet but either way I'll have to be soldering.
Got the drums down for a bit but will be back up in a couple weeks. Will be checking in nonetheless so post the ballad when you're ready and I can listen and plan out the drums while my kit is down. Looking forward to hear the final mix of this man!

Hey guys you two did an awesome job.The thing is my guitars are a bit off and I am going to you guys into my daw and redo the guitar parts. It might be a few days because my guitars input jack is messed up lol im sure Tony, you know all about that dreaded wire that tends to eventually come lose and has to be soldered with an iron!

Thanks Tony, appreciate it man.
It's like Jason was saying; this is an opportunity to do something a little different and bend the genre some. I am interested to see how everything is going to come out. We might just find a very unique groove. And on top of that, you get to add some of your own flavor to the song.
We three come from somewhat different musical backgrounds and I think this song highlights that pretty keenly above our other stuff. It's pretty cool, I'm interested to see how we all are going to grow together as musicians.
Have a good time with your brother.
Hey Jason. Was wondering if you have a drumless version of the ballad song ready. Not trying to rush you, but I'm going to have to take my kit down this weekend for about 2 weeks to give my wife some breathing space in our living room and wanted to try a post a track for it before I did.
Plus like I said...this song definitely makes me realize I need to practice up my single strokes a bit. So I am going to use the time to get reacquainted with my practice pad...Lol...maybe also mess around in fl studio a bit and see if i can contribute a melody or two to our stuff. Have a pretty decently tuned fl slayer rhythm guitar (sort of Obituary sound).
Dude, you got me playing 'I Am Negan' all the time again now... :)

Hey Tony just checked out the bass track and I am thinking ya know what, although this is kinda on the pop punk side and pretty upbeat.....your bass is much slower but hey maybe that is just what it needs you know? Most punk basslines are fast and rolling.Basically the average upbeat 160-165 bpm basslines are expected to be fast, however this gives us an edge to through off listeners but still keep their attention and hopefully we start a movement for like minded people who wanna keep the bass down!

Great drum work Vince. Thanks for your comments on bass, I struggled a bit on this one though so hope its usable. Jason, you must have missed my track due to conversation about playing speed etc.
I'm off for a bit, visiting my brother on the south coast, will check in as soon as back.
9/9/2017 9:28:26 PM
Lol, I hear ya. This one went up pretty quick.
Sounds good, man! Can't wait to hear this one with the vocals and everything mixed in!
9/9/2017 8:28:16 PM
Oh Tony already put a bass down, wow didn't notice until you mentioned it.lol you guys work alot faster than most, appreciate it.Let's see where this one goes!
9/9/2017 8:26:56 PM
Hey Vince not to worry,if they overpower I can just be very patient with the whole drum track slicing only the crashes and drop the volume if needed so not a problem at all. Will download your track in a bit and see what you have going on.Glad you enjoyed it!

Hey Tony, listened to your bass track. Nice job man.
Jason, hey man I tried to play the concept on low volume in the background with the drumless track so I could accent around the vocals but I think some of the cymbals got a bit too loud on the parts where they were played more than twice in a row. Let me know what you think, cause I can try to EQ them down a bit. It's crazy, cause I wanted the effect I got but just not to that degree.
Anyways, this was a really fun one to do, dug it!

Here's just the drums.
9/6/2017 2:11:33 PM
Yea I can definitely relate to that as well. Last year I removed my left bass drum pedal for 3 months because I was relying on it too much for things I should've been able to do with a single pedal...and like I was saying earlier...this song definitely makes me realize I need to work on my single strokes and my stamina a bit...
Yea Jason, I Am Negan is a great song. You really hit a home run on that one...we all did. But your melodies and lyrics are where it all begins. Hats off buddy!
Can't wait to see the fan video for it...wow that is going to be great!!
Here is the mix for You're Not Mine.

Hey Tony,I totally understand exactly where you are coming from a bassist and guitarist have so much in common because we are doing the same thing.Playing fast is all in our choices, lol you said it best we get lazy.A great example is playing Green Day styled lead or maybe something as simple as sticking to covering a lot of songs that are really easy by a certain band. This is what brings out that laziness,I been there quite a few times.Sometimes though my speed decreases when I start getting lost in fl studio working on edm and abandoning the guitar.
Vince, take all the time ya need and yes we have a great thing happening here.lol you know ya got a pretty good song when your online drummer has lyrics stuck in his head and sings it in public and makes someone uneasy ha ha ha ha ha! Speaking of course about I Am Negan witch by the way you guys will have a fan made video with OUR song!

Hey guys. Just checking in.
Feeling better but still a bit sick. Gonna take one more day and start tomorrow on this one.
Yea Jason we got a real good thing going here. Nice chemistry!
Hey Tony, haven't heard your track yet...haven't been at the computer and my phone has no bass, but I can tell you from just listening to the concept that I need to practice my single strokes up a bit. That's a good thing to inspire each other to achieve higher proficiency. Which brings me to my point...I'm still trying to put a liquid groove to the bassline you uploaded. You've inspired me to up my blues education...had forgot to tell you...
9/4/2017 3:19:45 AM
You are welcome to use, modify my bass lines anyway you choose that makes the song better. As to speed, I have known for some time that I've got a problem so its about time I got down to improving this part of my play. Being mostly a blues & groove player has made me a bit lazy in some respects.
Looking forward to the next one

Both of you guys take your time you two have helped so much.I need to let ya know Tony,I totally understand where you are coming from and perhaps I am throwing you some fast stuff.I can always use your bass as a soundfont if it to fast for you but on the other hand I wouldn't dare insult your years of practice and dedication because there is a bond here with us all and we can always improvise. This weekend I will be working on something a lot slower for both bass and drums and I bet you guys are gonna wanna dive into it because it is a ballad type song.
9/2/2017 5:00:03 AM
Uploaded Bass Mix, no vocals, & the Bass only tracks.
I found this one a bit tricky as I seem to have an inherent speed limit on my bass play.

That's awesome Jason! That guy (your brother-in-law yes?) is hilarious with his Michael Bolten rants! Can't wait to see that video!!! Lol
Don't really know much about Bloodhound Gang, but definitely see the Misfits connection...
Was trying to get to this one yesterday, but have a horrible flu and probably won't start until the weekend if I feel better.
8/28/2017 8:29:02 PM
No problem Tony, whenever you can get to it.I have not posted any new stuff for you guys in a while.Oh yea Vince, this is not from the dormant side but there is a connection of the two because I have a video planned and already have footage of the same guy from the dormant side ranting about his obsession for Michael Bolton and such lmao.I like to think of this song as a perfect blend of Misfits horror and Bloodhound Gang humor
8/28/2017 10:53:20 AM
Lol, you definitely write some catchy twisted lyrics Jason!
"You're lookin good tonight, from the closet where I hide..." hahahaha awesome bro!
8/28/2017 7:40:21 AM
Cool another twisted, and VERY catchy tune! Will get started soon.
Is this the song from 'The Dormant Side' when all of the killing was happening?
