I have very little time until Sunday. I am working on things, just slowly right now.

Aight! Lets start with this! Do you think you could add a tiny bit of reverb? Anyways...feedback please :-)

Great song music and vocals. I'm new here, just looking around . Good job :)

Here's the same music track @ -4db... just in case for some reason you can't adjust the volume in ProTools.

Weird indeed ! Are you going to start a new one to replace the screwy one?

I reformated the whole computer and re-installed everything on my PC. And the only problem I have is with this song. Other song projects work fine. Just does not make sense. Anyways :-)

I know...if I could do it in person trust me I would prefer that too...
I know where the input level switch is...but I have never touched it...I can still try...anyways for now I guess can you just send me a file on lower volume? If this doesn't work, I'll just record separately parts of the song I guess. Truly sorry for the inconvenient!

This is one of those situations where working online sucks...If I was there, I'd be able to pin-point it quickly.

I'm thinking there is a setting somewhere for input channels (from your mic). Something like a switch to change the input levels to -10db, 0db, or +10db.

There might be an issue with your computer levels as well. Maybe a sound driver needs to be re-installed??? Are you on PC or Mac?
4/11/2018 6:27:37 AM
I am using Pro Tools First and never had this problem before...But right now, the file I sent you...The vocals are at their loudest. Which in my head doesn't make any sense...if I dare to play with gain etc. (in a compressor or equilizor)..then it makes it louder but it also makes clipping.

The only reason I ask is because most programs allow you to adjust each tracks volume separately. So if the music is too loud, you should be able to just turn it down inside the program.

I can definitely piece multiple parts together and balance out the levels. I can make a music track at a lower volume if you need it. What program are you using to record with?
4/11/2018 5:56:21 AM
That is the problem. My computer crashed and for some unkown reason, I lost the project, therefore I lost all the settings and cannot seem to be able to make something work nicely this time...
If I record the parts separately...are you able to put everything together afterwards or if this is too complicated?
Otherwise...maybe you can send me the musical track on a lower volume? Is this feasible?

I'm having the same problem you are. The underlying issue is the beginning of the verse is too low a level to boost without distortion and the end of the chorus is naturally peaking. I'm not sure if that was one take or not, but it sounded like it. So my suggestion to you is since the beginning of the the verse is sung quieter than the rest of the track, record the parts separately. Record the verse with the mic hotter to get get that breathy low at a decent level. Then cool the mic down for the other parts. Your original track was easy to work with, so maybe go back to the formula you were using then??
